The Point Church is a movement of churches across the Triangle with one mission. We are all about pointing people to Jesus. We want to help people take their next steps with him—no matter where they are in their faith. So there’s no need to dress up, pretend to be perfect, or worry about your past. We just want you to experience Jesus.

At Student Point, we do this by studying the Word corporately, growing deeper in the Word personally, serving together, worshipping, and doing life with one another. We are on a continued journey to fall more in love with Jesus.  Each person has their own unique story and each person is on their own spiritual journey. Our desire as staff and leaders is to join each and every student on their journey as they seek to become more like Jesus.

5 Core Areas of Student Point

  1. Worship– Commitment to join larger body during worship times
  2. Life Groups– Sunday Mornings from 9:30-10:45 am
  3. Core Groups– Intentional discipleship time
  4. Serve Groups– Sunday morning and throughout the week
  5. Reach Events– Fun community events that are designed to inspire students to invite their friends

We want our students to be involved in the life of the church and a big part of that is attending Sunday morning services. Students have their life group at 9:30 am, so we would encourage all students and families of students to attend the 11 am worship time.

For Student Point, life groups happen every Sunday morning from 9:30-10:45 am. This is a time where students can do life together with their peers and adults who are invested in their life. Life Group consists of time to hang out and catch up on each other’s weeks, fun games intended to build community, a large group lesson adapted from Orange, and small group time where leaders invest in students and facilitate a deeper discussion from large group time. Student Point Life Groups are not intended to replace worship, so we encourage students to attend their Life Group time and then attend the 11 am worship service. While students are at their morning life group, this would be a great opportunity for parents to serve during the 9:30 am worship service and attend the 11 am with their students.

We believe that students are a vital part of the church body using their gifts and abilities to bless their community and church. There are many ways that students can serve at Point Church. Students can serve in virtually any of the needed volunteer spots on a Sunday morning. They can serve on front line, café, the worship team, tech team, Kid Point, prayer team, or parking lot team. Students would fit into the regular bi-weekly rotation during the 11 am worship service times. Students can also serve at any of our Care Pantry locations on any given Saturday.

Student Point Core Groups are a time where students can go deeper in their study of God’s Word, build deeper relationships with 2-3 other students, and be mentored by an adult volunteer. We want to equip students to effectively read through God’s Word throughout the year. Student Point Core Groups mimic the way adults do core groups. There is a time of praying for the lost, confession of sins, reading through Scripture, and discussing their SOAP journals from their reading throughout the week. Core Groups are also a time to build community and interact with students from other Point Church locations as well.
